About us

Kennel Wintervargars is located a bit outside of Borå s, in Dalsjöfors.
We have a small breeding of Alaskan Malamutes, in a kennel owned by me, Jennie,
and my father Tommy. Kennel Wintervargars got registrated in 2008 and has been active since.

We are breeding for malamutes with good mentality and health, as much as good working skills
and exteriority. But without happy, healthy dogs from the start, neither will nor beauty can
be kept.

What we do today affects tomorrow.



Jennie
I have always had an interest for animals and especially dogs. My first two dogs came from Kennel Ö n's
in Fristad. These wonderful dogs were called Ö n's Ernie grey and Ö n's Faxe grey, and were of the breed
Norwegian elkhound. They both had a lot of exciting experiences with whatever a 13 year old girl could
come up with, and it was them giving me my a basic interest for dogs.
While we noticed we could train sledge and pull with these kinds of dogs, we decided to get real sledgedogs,
and so, in 2004 our first malamutepuppy arrived. A male from kennel Arctic trail’s on Tjörn.
In 2005, I started at Hundsportsgymnasiet in Forshaga. A high school specialised on dogs and competitions,
to where I could take Atlas with me. I learned a lot there, everything from different ways of teaching a dog
tricks, to nutrition, health, breeding and agility. I took my exam 3 years later, and am currently working
and studying to someday work with animals in some way, maybe animal healthcare inspector.



Tommy
Tommy has had some dogs during his life, a german shepherd and a dobermann, and also some others.
He was training then on a hobby level, and had his dogs mostly for company, but went on without dogs for several years
after his last one died. Then came life back into our home, with Faxe and Ernie, and now malamutes.
For several years he has been a hunter, and likes being outside in the woods and nature.
